Snapshots: My First Time to Canada!

YOU GUYS! Canada is amazing! The fresh(er) air, the small towns, the peace and quiet… it was exactly what I needed this past weekend and I’m so grateful for my time away.
BONUS: it’s only an hour and a half flight from New York!

Here are some pictures from my weekend getaway!

City Lights vs Lake Ontario Views

Rooftop bars are my favorite spots when visiting a new city. They offer incredible views and I don’t go to them enough in New York, so I absolutely had to check this one out at The Thompson Toronto. It didn’t disappoint. And neither did the backyard view of Lake Ontario! Sipping coffee on the back porch and walking along the water was a DREAM.

Toronto Murals

There were so many cool murals of art sprinkled around Toronto, all so different and engaging. I wish I had more time to walk around and see them all! The sunflowers were definitely my favorite.

Niagara-On-The-Lake Vineyards

Peller Estates Winery / Inniskillin Wines / The Ice House Winery

Plot twist: There are so many vineyards in Canada! I only scratched the surface with these three (not bad for a three day weekend) but I highly recommend doing the tastings and walking around the vineyards. I even found a new type of wine I liked and brought a bottle home for dinner!

What is Ice Wine, you ask? It is a type of dessert wine produced from grapes that have been frozen while still on the vine… aka perfect for those Canadian winters. It is super sweet and at the The Ice House, they make it into a slushy!

All in all it was a fabulous weekend away from hectic city life, the perfect reset. I can’t wait to go back!
