Whenever I’m traveling solo, I try to do as much as I can during the day. I don’t like being out at night by myself, so I ALWAYS research day trips/excursions/tour groups before a new trip. So when I was on my European getaway back in March, a day trip to the Giant’s Causeway was a perfect idea!
The next time you find yourself in Dublin and in need of a little getaway, I highly recommend a Paddywagon Tours Day Trip! They have multiple tours a day going out west to the Cliffs of Moher, north to the Giant’s Causeway, and south to Cork and even Southwest out to Kerry. This particular trip was an all day excursion from Dublin city centre to the tip of Northern Ireland and back down again for just 60 euros. Itinerary and photos below!
Glens of Antrim
Carrick-A-Rede Rope Bridge
Giant’s Causeway (includes admission to the causeway visitor’s center)
I think my favorite part of this trip was just being able to stand on the cliffs and feel the wind on my face. I don’t get fresh air like this in New York, so I spent every second I could standing in the sunshine, breathing deeply, and taking it all in. There is nothing quite like fresh Irish air to really reset yourself.
This is the perfect day trip for solo travelers and I even met a couple other people traveling by themselves, too! We had a great time getting to know each other, eating lunch together, and taking each other’s photos (very important). Shout out to Julio if you’re reading this!
